Marikana Spaces

A couple of landscape pictures I took while covering the ongoing Mining strike in Marikana over the last two days.  Some workers have returned to work after more than three months but intimidation is still rife.  An uneasy calm have returned to the area after some violence from the 10th of May.

The already impoverished area is struggling economically because workers have not received pay from the beginning of the strike.  Businesses are closing down and a lot op people are depending on food handouts.
