Mies Julie

Hilda Cronjé and Bongile Mantsai in the award-winning play Mies Julie

Mies Julie, which won the Best of Edinburgh Fringe Award, is showing at the State Theatre (5 Sept – 7 Oct).

It is an excellent (but difficult to watch) play that everyone in South Africa should see.

The play which revolves around the relationship between 3 people. Julie (Hilda Cronjé) the daughter of the farm owner, John (Bongile Mantsai) Julie’s childhood friend and farm worker and Christina (Thokozile Ntshinga) John’s mother and Julie’s nanny.

The acting is brilliant and the set and music very atmospheric.

Just note that there is an age restriction and it is not suitable for children.
