Xenophobia




Yesterday we visited a primary school in Attridgeville where about 400 immigrants are being housed after they were chased away from their homes by local residents. Some family’s houses were burned down and have lost everything. They are unsure about their future as they cannot return to their homes in Attridgeville and are unwilling to return to their home countries without money. Some have lived in South Africa for more than 10 years.

These are just some stand alone photos I took at the shelter. I will post more pics as soon as Beeld publishes the story.
